Hitech Freestanding Capstans eliminate the need for mooring staff to manually pull in mooring lines by offering a secure and reliable way to do so. Capstans are composed of up of a motor, gearbox, and casing and can be either electric or hydraulic in nature. They usually operate by a control panel and a footswitch.
For installation in hazardous conditions, capstans can be provided as an explosion-proof certified device or for non-hazardous areas. For various applications involving line handling, a variety of capacities are available with various speed and load ratings.
